The Cub Scout has many avenues of achieving advancements. The most important is the Cub Scout Ranks. Each year, Scouts complete tasks to “graduate” them from Tiger to Wolf to Bear to Webelos. The Scout can also complete electives which will earn him beads or arrows depending on the level.
The 2nd most popular is earn belt loops and pins through the Academics and Sports Program.
In addition to Rank Advancements, Electives, the Academics and Sports Programs, there are many other special awards and honors given out by the Boy Scouts of America and 3rd party organizations. Below is a list (but no exhaustive) of what the Scouts work for at any time during their time as a Cub Scout.

Tiger Cubs, Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts have the opportunity to earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award. Boys may earn the award in each of the program years as long as the requirements are completed each year. The first time the award is earned, the boy will receive the pocket flap award (shown above), which is to be worn on the right pocket flap of the uniform shirt. Each successive time the award is earned, a wolf track pin (also shown above) may be added to the flap. Leaders should encourage boys to build on skills and experiences from previous years when working on the award for a successive year. - Emergency Preparedness Award

More Info: http://usscouts.org/advance/cubscout/religious.asp
“A Scout is reverent.” All Scouts show this by being faithful in their duty to God. Some go further and give special service. This can qualify them for a religious emblem. Such an emblem is not a Scouting award. It is conferred on a Scout by his religious leader. Each faith has its own requirements for earning its emblem. Listed below are the TIGER CUB, CUB SCOUT, AND WEBELOS SCOUT emblems and where to find out about them. Before writing or visiting your local council service center, check with your religious leader. (Unless indicated otherwise below, awards listed may be earned by both Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts, but not by Tiger Cubs) - Whittling Chip

The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers to “think globally” and “act locally” to preserve and improve our environment.
