  • On January 1, 2009, the BSA published a new Tour Permit application. Anytime a Den or a Pack leaves the home base, they must submit a tour permit. The online pdf form can be filled out in your browser or filled out after it is printed.
  • A quicker and more convenient form is to fill it out online. You can do so through the My Scouting page. This is the same portal for the online classes. You must have registered with your BSA Member ID. The Tour Permit link will be on the left side.
  • Also as of January 1, it is required that ALL units must have at least one person who has taken the online course “Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather” on site, with their unit, anytime the unit leaves their home base. Again, this course can be taken on-line thru the My Scouting page.

Pack 1776 Blue & Gold 2009

The Bears are very excited about hosting this year’s Blue & Gold celebration and the Crossover of the Webelos. The Web II’s have provided us leadership and guided this Pack through her best days.  They have also taught and mentored many of us to lead the Pack into greater days.  I hope this event provides them a great sendoff into Boys Scouting.

Date: February 28th
RSVP: Please send me your Den #, the number of adults and the number of kids attending by 2/20: bg@dimensionallythinking.com
Time: Arrive at 5:30 pm and we should wrap up by 8:30pm
Where: St. Ann ’s Nolan Hall – same place as the Pine Wood Derby
Dress: Class A Uniforms

What is Blue & Gold
The B&G is a celebration of the anniversary of the Pack and of Scouting in general.  It’s a time for all the families to get together, break bread, share a good time and be with friends.

What to Expect and What to Do

  • MUST Ministries Food Drive
The idea will be for each Scout to collect 30 cans of food to bring to the B&G. See emails for details
  • Desert Contest
Every year, we do this and it turns out great. Encourage your Scouts to come up with and prepare a dessert that is creative and edible. There will be winners in a couple categories
  • T-Shirt Design Contest
This year we’re asking the Scouts to come to the B&G with their designs already done. We’ll lay them out for everyone to see throughout the night and pick a winner.
  • Scout Bingo
Brush up on your Scouting knowledge because we’re going to put you to the test
Should be fun and there will be prizes
  • Center Piece Contest
Taking the lead from last year’s Bears, we’re going to have another center piece design contest. The idea will be to have each Den come with their own theme and decorate their tables accordingly
